What happens during a treatment?
After a detailed and comprehensive discussion, very fine, sterile needles are inserted into the skin at certain points in order to smooth and stimulate the flow of Qi, correct imbalances and remove any energy blockages that may be contributing to ill-health. The Client is then given time to relax comfortably with the needles in place.
Don’t like Needles?
I may still be able to help using other techniques:
Cupping
Cupping (using a glass or plastic “cup” over certain points to create a vacuum) relaxes muscles, clears blockages and enhances the immune system. The cups may be left in one position during treatment (static cupping) or may be used in a gentle sliding motion (gliding cupping).
Moxibustion
Moxibustion uses a smouldering herb to warm, clear energy channels and enhance the flow of Qi.

Gua Sha
This technique employs a painless scraping motion and is very useful for musculo-skeletal pain.
Tuina (Acupressure Massage)
Tuina is an ancient Chinese system of massage encompassing specific acupuncture points. It is useful for a wide range of conditions and is often used for acute and chronic musculo-skeletal problems.
Many Clients find it extremely relaxing and beneficial for general well-being.
Any of the above techniques may form part of a treatment as appropriate. They are fully discussed and agreed with the Client in advance.
